Q.A.F.M. SERAJUL ISLAM, Managing Director.

Mr. Q .A .F.M. SERAJUL ISALAM, after completing M.Sc. in Physics in 1972, joined as Lecturer with a private college His career in insurance begins in 1978 when he joined with Sadharan Bima Corporation. He was holding important position in different Departments of SBC and was Deputy General Manager of Reinsurance Department when he retired voluntarily from SBC in 2003. In the same year, he joined with Progati Insurance Limited as Deputy Managing Director. In September 2005, he joined with Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd as Additional managing Director and took over the charge as CEO and Managing Director of the company on January 14,2007.

He had his professional Diploma in General Insurance from Bangladesh Insurance Academy in 1986. He also received training on insurance and reinsurance matters at home and abroad including a three weeks in house training on reinsurance at Tysers, London. More so, he attended various international seminars and conferences. In addition, he negotiated Reinsurance Treaties of SBC, Pragati Insurance Ltd. & Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. with local Re-insurers and Re-Insurers in UK, France, Germany, Switzerland and India. His total experience in insurance industry is about 32 years.

Mr. Nazim Uddin Al Azad , Adviser

 Educational Qualification: B.A.

 Experience: Started Insurance Profession under Muslim Insurance Co. Ltd., Jessore as Branch In-charge in 1968. Served as Sr. Executive under Green Delta Insurance Co. Ltd from 1986 to 1988.  Joined Central Insurance Co. ltd in 1991 as chief co-ordinator and promoted to the rank of Deputy Managing Director in 1995 and worked there upto 1999. Prior to his joining in Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd  as Adviser(Dev) he worked with Meghna Insurance Co. Ltd. as Advisor. His total experience in insurance is about 42 years.

S.M. Mizanur Rahman, D.M.D. & Company Secretary

 Educational Qualification: MBA, B.Com. (Hon’s), M.Com., C.A. (Inter).

 Experience: Joined Peoples Insurance Co. Ltd. the 1st private sector General Insurance Company as Manager (Accounts) in 1985 and promoted to the post of A.G.M. then D.G.M. In 1991, he did switch over to a group of industries. In May 1994, joined with Bangladesh Co-operative Insurance Limited as A.G.M. (Accounts). In 1996, he  joined with Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. as D.G.M. (Accounts). Now he is D.M.D. & Company Secretary of the company.. His total experience in insurance industry is about 22 years.

 D.K. Chakraborty, D.M.D & Zonal In-charge, Chittagong. .

Professional Qualification: Diploma in Insurance from Bangladesh Insurance Academy.

 Experience: Started General Insurance Profession under Mercantile Fire & General Insurance Company Pak. Limited in 1962. Served as Branch-in-charge under Popular Ins. Co. Ltd. from 1968 till Nationalization. Served with Sadharan Bima Corporation from its inception as Asst. Manager till 1985. Joined Peoples Ins. Co. Ltd. in 1985 as an In-charge, Khatungonj Branch and promoted to the rank of Deputy General Manager in 1987. Resigned from Peoples Ins. Co. Ltd. in the year 1991 and joined Reliance Ins. Ltd. as Zonal-in-charge, Chittagong and worked there till 14.07.1997. Resigned from Reliance Ins. Ltd. in the year 1997 and joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. as Zonal-in-charge, Chittagong and promoted to the post of D.M.D. in 2003. His total experience in insurance is about 48 years.

Al-Moeiz Laiwala, MBA( IBA-DU), D.M.D.

Joined the Insurance industry on Completion of Masters of Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka. in the year 1995.

Taken extensive training on Basic course of Insurance at the Bangladesh Insurance Academy. Thereafter undergone on the job training in various departments of the Company (Reliance Insurance Ltd) e.g. Underwritings, Claims, Reinsurances etc. and thereafter posted at Company’s Chittagong Zonal office as Deputy Zonal In-charge, in year 1996. Later in the year 1997 was entrusted with the responsibility of Zonal In-charge, Chitagong Zone. He has joined with Pioneer Insurance Company Limited  in the year-2008 as Deputy Managing Director & In-charge of Marketing Department, Head Office.

Also attended International seminar organized by Arab Insurance Group at Bahrain on Managing Competition and change in soft market.  Now having over 13 years experience in the field of General Insurance, covering Marketing & Sales Management , Risk Assessment and Underwriting . Studying and accessing the Company profile and financials of the client.

 Prior to this also gained about a year’s experience in Marketing and Sales Management  of the product of Proctor and Gamble. About 4 years experience as Project In-charge of a the Leather Industry (a project of Industrial Promotion Services of Aga khan Development Network) with exposures on Project  Installation, Commissioning and Operations. And About 3 years experience in managing   the Gas Station owned by the family. Also has work experience as free lance consultant on marketing and financial areas.

 A.K.M. Jashim Uddin Ahmed, A.M.D

Educational Qualification: M.A. in Economics in 1969.

Professional Qualification: Diploma in Insurance from Bangladesh Insurance Academy in 1985 and stood first.

Training: Completed various training courses on insurance both within and outside the country. Attended a 3-month training course on Insurance Management & General Insurance conducted by International Insurance Institute for Asia & Pacific/UNDP/UNCTAD in Manila in 1984. Stood 2nd in the examination and was awarded President’s Medal

 Experience: Served with the then State Bank of Pakistan from 6th April 65 to 9th Oct, 69 and joined the  Pakistan Insurance Corporation (PIC) on 10th Oct. 1969. He was absorbed with Sadharan Bima Corporation in 1973 wherefrom he retired on 30.12.2002 as Asst. General Manager (Reinsurance). Then he Joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. on 01/01/2003 as G.M.. He is now In-charge of Underwriting & Branch Control Departments of the Company and holding the post of Assistant Managing  Director. His total experience in insurance industry is about 41 years.

 Tarik ur Rahman, A.M.D.

 Educational Qualification: B.Com. (Hon's), M.Com in Management

Experience: Joined Bangladesh General Insurance Company Ltd., as Assistant Manager (Dev.) in December, 1985 and continued his job with them till May, 2010. Promoted to the rank of Deputy Managing Director and Zonal In­charge, Chittagong in the year 2009. Gained extensive experience in Risk assessment, PML, Underwriting, Claims and Marketing. Resigned from Bangladesh General Insurance Company Ltd., in May, 2010 and joined Pioneer Insurance Company Ltd., as Assistant Managing Director. He is In-charge of Reinsurance Department of the Company. His total experience in insurance is above 24 years.

Training: Participated in overseas and local training programmes on General Insurance, Reinsurance, Industrial All Risk Insurance, Claim Management, Reinsurance Management, Actuarial Appreciation, Risk Management & PML, Property risk Management and Fundamentals of Risk Survey organized by Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai, National Insurance Academy, Pune, India and Bangladesh Insurance Academy. He also accredited with the Award of the Insurance Institute of India for his academic excellence.

Professional Attainments: He has been invited as a part-time guest faculty by Premier University, Independent University and Bangladesh Insurance Academy to conduct classes on Risk Management and Insurance. He also works as a Risk and Insurance Management Consultant in different Group of Industries.  

Salimur Reza Chowdhury, A.M.D.

Educational Qualification: B.A.

Experience: He joined Janata Insurance Co. Ltd. in the year 1988. He served Janata Insurance Co. Ltd. for nine years commencing from 01.01.1988 in the development side and continued till 1996. He was the Branch-in-charge of Kawran Bazar Branch since 1995 to 1996 as Asst. Vice President. He joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. in 1997 as D.G.M. Now he is holding the post of Assistant Managing Director & In-charge, Local Office. His total experience in insurance is more than 22 years.

Ms. Shamima Faizy, A.M.D.

Educational Qualification: M.A. in Bengali in 1975

Experience: Served BCI Bank Ltd. Prior to her joining in Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. as A.G.M (Dev.), she worked with Peoples Insurance Co. Ltd. since 08/02/1998. She is now Assistant Managing Director, Marketing Department ,Head Office. Her total experience in insurance is about  12 years.

Showkat Hossain Siddiki, A.M.D.

Educational Qualification: B.Sc.

Experience: Prior to his joining in Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. as Executive Director (Dev.), he worked with Peoples Insurance Co. Ltd. since 1985. Now he is holding the post of Assistant Managing Director & In-charge, Gulshan Branch. His total experience in insurance is about 25 years.

Shariful Islam Chowdhury, A.M.D.

Educational Qualification: B.Com. in 1981

Experience: Served with SACO Int. Ltd. as Public Relations Officer from 1988 to 31.12.1991. Joined Central Ins. Co. Ltd. in 1992 as Public Relations Officer. Resigned from Central Ins. Co. Ltd. in the year 1997 and joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. as Branch-in-charge in V.I.P. Road Branch. Now he is holding the post of Assistant Managing Director & In-charge, V.I.P. Road Branch.  His total experience in insurance is about 18 years.

Mr. Mohd. Abu Taiyab, A.M.D.

Educational Qualification: M.Com.

Experience: Started insurance career in 1989 with Federal Insurance Co. Ltd. and continued his job with tem till April, 2009. He joined Pioneer Insurance Company Limited on May, 2009 as Assistant Managing Director. His total experience in insurance sector is about 21 years.

Mr. Abidul Haque, A.M.D.

Educational Qualification: B.Com

Experience: After long experience in banking, he joined with Pioneer Insurance Company Limited in 2007 as Executive Director, Marketing Department. He is now holding the post of A.M.D & In-Charge of the company’s Bangabandhu Avenue Branch,Dhaka. His experience of working in insurance is about three (03) years. 

Mr. Shabbir Ahmedullah Sinha,  A..M.D. 

Educational Qualification: MBA, M.Sc. in 1996

Experience: Started working in Pioneer Insurance Company Limited, Head Office as General Manager, Marketing department in 2006. Before that, he worked with Peoples Insurance Company Limited in since 1994, last designation was Senior Manager. He is now holding the post of A.M.D &  In-Charge of the Company’s Dilkusha Branch  and has total experience in insurance is about 16 years.

Mr. Monjurul Hoque, E.D.

Educational Qualification: M.Sc in Geographical science from Dhaka University.

Training: Received training on Strategic Management & Planning from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University and on Motor & Engineering Underwriting from Bangladesh Insurance Academy, Mohakali,Dhaka.

Experience : Started insurance career on 30^th April 1986 with Progati Insurance Limited and continued with them till 14^th August 2008. He then joined with Pioneer Insurance Company Limited on 22^nd September 2008 as Executive Director & In-Charge of the Company’s Shantinagar Branch. His experience of working in insurance is about twenty four (24) years.

Mr. Salim Sajjad Haque, E.D.

Educational Qualification: B.Com (Hons), M.Com in Finance from Dhaka University.

Experience : Served Northern Insurance Co. Ltd. in many capacities including Head of Establishment. Then joined Marketing Department of Pragati Insuance Ltd & served as Branch In charge of Dilkusha Branch of the Company. Joined Pioneer Insurance Company  Ltd. as Executive Director in April 2010.

MR. NAZRUL ISLAM TALUKDER, E.D

Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Commerce, University of Dhaka.

Experience: - He joined Pragati Insurance Ltd, in the year 1989.He served Pragati Insurance Ltd for twenty (21) years commencing from 06-09-1989 in the Marketing Department and continued his service till 30 April 2010. He was the Branch in-charge of Imamgong Branch & Uttara Branch since 2004 to 30 April, 2010 as Deputy Vice President. He joined Pioneer Insurance Co Ltd as Executive Director from 2nd May, 2010.

Training : Completed various training courses on insurance within the country.

Mr. Md. Mahabbatur Rahman Khan, E.D.

Educational Qualification: M.Com. in Accounting in 1992

Experience: Started insurance career in 1994 with Reliance Insurance Limited and continued his job with them till 1999. He joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. on 11/02/1999 as Manager,Marketing Department. Now he is holding the post of Executive Director &  In-charge , Kawran Bazar Branch. His total experience in insurance is about 16 years.

Md. Shamsul Haque, G.M.

Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Agri. Economics in 1970

Experience: Prior to his joining in Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. as General Manager, Marketing Department on 03/09/2006, he worked with Islami Insurance Bangladesh Ltd. as Senior Vice-President since 08/05/2005 and served in Rural Electrification Board as Secretary and retired on 2003. Now he is holding the post of General Manager & In-charge, New Market Branch. His total experience in insurance is more than 4 years.

Mr. Benu Lal Sarker, G.M.

Educational Qualification: M.A. in Economics in 1966, Diploma in Insurance from Bangladesh Insurance Academy in 1984.

Training: Attended various training courses on Insurance within & outside the country such as 4^th  Oil and Gas Training Course in Jakarta Indonesia in June 1997.

Experience: Joined Popular Insurance Co. Ltd. in 1968 which was absorbed with Sadharan Bima Corporation in 1973 and wherefrom he retired on 2001 as AGM (R/I),Head office. Joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. as D.G.M. on 01.07.2002. He is now  General Manager and has total experience in insurance is about  42 years.

Mr. Shamsur Rahman Khan, G.M.

Educational Qualification: B.Com. in 1969

Experience: Prior to his joining in Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. on 01.03.1997, he worked with Karnaphuli Insurance Co. Ltd. since January’1990. Now he is holding the post of General Manager & In-charge, Motijheel Branch. His total experience in insurance is about 20 years.

Mr. Syed Sehab Ullah Al-Manjur, G.M.

Educational Qualification: MBA, Diploma from Bangladesh Insurance Academy with Tyser Awards England, for brilliant result. He also obtained Dip CII (London).

Experience: Joined Eastern Insurance Co. Ltd. in the year 1989 as Probationary Officer. Since 2001 working with Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. as In-charge of Claims Department. Presently holding the position of General Manager, Underwriting Department at Head Office. His total experience in insurance is about  23 years.

Mr. Md. Musa Reza Siddiqui, .G.M.

Educational Qualification: M.Com. in Accounting in 1987

Experience: Started insurance career in February’1989 with Reliance Insurance Limited and continued his job with them till October 12/07/1997. He joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. on 13/07/1997 as Manager, Marketing Department. Now he is In-charge, Sheikh Mujib Road Branch. His total experience in insurance is about 21 years.

Mr. P.P. Rozario, Sr. D.G.M.

Educational Qualification: B.Com. in 1967

Experience: Joined Queensland Insurance Co. Ltd. in 1963 and remained there till he was absorbed in Sadharan Bima Corporation in 1973. He retired from S.B.C. on 30/12/1999 and joined Desh General Insurance Co. Ltd. on 01/03/2000 as D.G.M. He resigned from Desh General Insurance Co. Ltd. and joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. as D.G.M. (Underwriting) on 07/01/2002. He is well experienced in all types of underwriting. Now he is holding the post of Sr. D.G.M. (Claims) at our Head Office.

 Mr. Dhruba Kumar Guha,  C.F.O. &  Sr. D.G.M

Educational Qualification: MBA, Completed I.C.M.A. partly

Training: He has successful training on I) Company Management, II) Sound Business & Financial Practices in Insurance Industry, III) Corporate Tax & VAT IV) Deduction of VAT & Income Tax at source V) Business English (Advanced Level).

Experience: Started insurance career in 1990 with Bangladesh Co-operative Insurance Ltd. as a Probationary Officer and continued his job with them till October 1996. He joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. on November 1996. Now he is holding the  post of Chief Financial Officer in the rank of Sr. D.G.M. at Head Office. His total experience in insurance is more than 20 years.

Mr. Biswa Nath Bhattachargee, Sr. D.G.M.

Experience: Started insurance career in 1990 with Peoples Insurance Company Limited and continued his job with them till October 09/08/2000. He joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. on 10/08/2000 as Manager, Marketing Department. Now he is holding the post of Sr. Deputy General Manager& In-charge, Imamgonj Branch. His total experience in insurance is about 20 years.

Syed Mohammed Shafiullah,  Sr. D.G.M.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor of  Science (B.SC) from Chittagong University in 1983.

Experience: In April 1986, he joined Bangladesh General Insurance Co. Ltd., In August 1988, he joined Reliance Insurance Limited and continued for 10 years, In April 1997  he joined Janata Insurance Company Ltd. as A.V.P and In charge of Underwriting & Branch Control Dept. at Head Office, Dhaka.  In February 2000 he joined Dhaka Insurance Ltd. as D.G.M & In charge of Underwriting & Branch Control Dept. at Head office, Dhaka.  In August 2005 he joined in EastLand Insurance Co. Ltd. as Vice President and In charge of Risk Management & Specialized Insurance Dept at Head office, Dhaka. He was promoted to the rank of Senior Vice President in 2009, Joined Pioneer Insurance Co Ltd. on 22-02-2010 as Senior Deputy General Manager, Underwriting Department at Head office, Dhaka.  His total experience in insurance is about 25 years.

Training :  Completed various training courses on insurance within the country.

Mr.S.M. Jasim Uddin,  Sr. D.G.M.

Educational Qualification: B.S.S (Hons.) M.S.S in Public Administration in 1986.

 Professional Qualification : Diploma from Bangladesh Insurance Academy with Tyser Award for 1^st position in the Final part Exam.

 Experience:  Started insurance carrier on  November 18,1989 with Pragati Insurance Limited and continued with them till march 31, 2010. He then joined with Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd on April 01, 2010 as Sr.Deputy General Manager, Branch Control & MIS Department at Head office. His working experience in the insurance arena is about twenty one (21) years.

Training :  Completed various training courses on insurance within the country.

Mr. M. G. Jilani, D.G.M.

Experience: Started insurance career with Eastern Federal Union Insurance Co. Ltd. in their Narayangonj Branch and continued with them from 15/02/1951 to 30/06/1966. Then he switched over to Pakistan Guarantee Insurance Co. Ltd. as Branch Manager, Narayangonj on 01/07/1966 and after liberation he was promoted and made Head Office Manager in 1972 till the time of all general insurance companies merged and renamed as Sadharan Bima Corporation. He retired from Sadharan Bima Corporation in 1989. After retirement from SBC he joined Green Delta Insurance Co. Ltd. in their Narayangonj Branch as Area Manager from 1989 to 1991. He joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. On  2^nd May, 1999 as Senior Manager, Marketing Department. Now he is holding the post of Deputy General Manager & In-charge, Narayangonj Branch. His total experience in insurance is about  59  years.

Mr. S.M. Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan, D.G.M.

Educational Qualification: B.Com. (Hon’s), M.Com. in Accounting in 1983

Experience: Started insurance career in 1990 with Janata Insurance Co. Ltd. and continued his job with them till May’1997. He joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. on June’1997. Now he is holding the post of Deputy general manager (BC & MIS, Internal audit, head office. his total experience in insurance is about 20 years.

Mr. M. Nazib Iqbal, D.G.M.

Educational Qualification: MBA, B.Com. (Hon’s), M.Com. in Management in 1989

Training: Overseas training on General Insurance conducted by College of Insurance at Mumbai, India. Attended various Training Courses on insurance, Computers and Business English Course (Advanced level).

Experience: Joined Reliance Insurance Ltd. on 11^th August, 1988. Resigned from Reliance on 30.04.2002 and joined Pioneer Insurance Co. Ltd. on 02.05.2000 as Manager. Well experienced in all types of underwriting. Now he is holding the post of D.G.M. (Underwriting Dept.) at Head Office. His total experience in insurance is more than 22 years.

Habibur Rahman Chowdhury, A.G.M

Educational Qualification: MBA, Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (secured 1^st Position in order of merit) from the Institute of Personnel Management, Bangladesh in 2002.

Training: Certificates awarded by IBA, Dhaka University, BUET, IBCS-Primax, Bangla Academy and other Institutes for successful training on IT. Certificate awarded by MCCI, Dhaka in Business Communication Skills. Certificate awarded by MMCG & FLF for successful participation at the workshop on “Creative Selling Techniques” at British Council Auditorium. Certificate awarded by IUB in Business English (Advanced Level).

Experience: Started Insurance Career on 2^nd May, 1987 with Peoples Insurance Company Limited and continued his job with them till 3^rd January, 1999. He joined Pioneer Insurance Company Limited on January 04, 1999. Now, he is holding the post of Assistant General Manager, Human Resource Department. He is one of the Fellow of IPM and Ex-Vice President of EC of IPM. His total experience in insurance is above 23 years.

A. K. M Abdul Alim, A.G.M

Educational Qualification: Diploma in Engineering-Mechanical.

Training: Received training on different aspects of General Insurance matters from Bangladesh Insurance Academy.

Experience: Joined with Reliance Insurance Limited in 1987 and worked there in Underwriting Department for three years. In 1996, joined with Pioneer Insurance Company Limited in its Underwriting department as Officer. Now he is AGM, Underwriting Department and having about 17 years of experience of working in insurance.
